Vacancy Description:
PRN - As needed.
Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of physicians/nurse practitioner and the Clinic Manager.
JOB SUMMARY
Room patients, triage, assist physician or nurse practitioner in procedures. Draw and run labs.
Return patient calls or call patients back as Doctor feels appropriate. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
1 Demonstrates ability to assess patients general condition, particularly the acutely ill patient and ensures that needs are met.
2 Assists physicians/nurse practitioner with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Provides direct patient care as ordered.
3 Documents all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, hospital data and any other pertinent information in the medical record.
4 Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physicians advice and instructions.
5 Successfully combines forces with other coworkers to support a team atmosphere within the clinic.
6 Accurately completes waivers and assists the coders as needed.
7 Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, maintains equipment, instruments and stock supplies.
8 Possesses excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette. Acts as a role model within the clinic to promote team work and enhance the work environment.
9 Performs all patient care, nursing tasks and documentation according to established clinic/system policies and the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.
10 Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
11 Returns patient phone calls in a timely manner to accurately communicate the physicians instructions and/or test results.
12 Maintain adequate sample and medication stock levels and rotate to assure medication does not outdate.
13 Scan appropriate documentation to correct patient record
14 Keep inbasket current daily
15 Has a basic understanding of HIPAA regulations
16 Adheres to basic ethical principals associated with government and insurance company reimbursements. Reports any observed questionable activities to the appropriate compliance officer or administrative manager.
17 Performs other duties as assigned.
18 Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
19 Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
20 Communicates the mission, ethics and goals
Job Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure: Current LPN License for Arkansas
Experience: Certification/Registration: Current certification in CPR
Other Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
