Complete Description
Responsible for providing direction for the care of dialysis patients. Assists with competency assessment of licensed practical nurses and techs. Majority of work time is spent standing and/or walking (up to 80% of the time.) Frequent lifting of items weighing approximately 20 lb. is required ( up to 60% of work time.) Heavy transferring, pushing and pulling of patients weighing up to 200 lb. is occasionally required (up to 20% of work time.) This position is exposed to body fluids, chemicals and communicable diseases common to a clinical dialysis setting.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program. Good interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel and families. Previous clinical nursing experience of at least one year to be able to work independently in the dialysis setting. Schedule includes every 3rd Saturday (10 hr shift)
